Cascadia Laser is Victoria’s leader in microneedling with mesotherapy technology. We use the cutting edge Dermapen for ultimate results. Microneedling is effective for the treatment of facial wrinkles, scars and large pores. This treatment restores a tighter, more youthful look to the facial and neck skin through restorative collagen production.
Microneedling with mesotherapy injection has proven even more effective than microneedling alone to restore collagen to the facial skin. This involves layering a specialized Lift HG serum on the skin during the microneedling procedure, injecting the serum into the epidermis layer of the skin to rejuvenate the collagen in the outer layers of the skin, giving an amazing glow.
We also provide a calming and restorative gel to apply in the 48 hours after the procedure to soothe the skin and promote healing after the procedure.

Does it hurt?
The sensation felt is of a vibration passing through the skin. It should not be painful if done correctly and a prescription-strength numbing cream applied to the face prior to the procedure. We stock a very effective prescription numbing cream that we apply to all of our patients for 10 minutes prior to the procedure. Additionally, we moisturize the face after the treatment to prevent discomfort.
Will my face be irritated from the procedure?
You can expect a diffusely red face after the procedure, which can last up to 24 hours. The facial skin will feel like it is burning similar to a mild sunburn on the day of the procedure after the numbing cream wears off in 4 hours. This feeling and the redness wears off after 24 hours and the skin will come back to normal. If your face bleeds, the procedure has been performed incorrectly. We will give you the proper hydrating creams to apply post-procedure.
How long until I notice improvement?
Most often there is a very striking tightening and smoothing effect after three treatments, performed at one-month intervals. People with deep acne scars or stretch marks will want to perform six initial treatments separated by a month each. After the initial treatments, you should come back for a session every four months for maintenance purposes.
Microneedling vs Dermarolling
Microneedling is a more effective needling procedure than dermarolling. Dermarollers typically penetrate only 0.25 mm into the skin, which is not deep enough to penetrate into the dermis layer of skin in order to stimulate collagen production and excellent facial rejuvenation results. Microneedling with the Skinpen device provides adjustable depth up to 2.5 mm, which produces a deep penetration for optimal collagen stimulation and therefore wrinkle reduction and a smooth, glowing appearance to the facial skin. Occasionally dermarolling is suggested between microneedling appointments for maintenance, but it is not adequate alone.
Microneedling vs Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is a very light abrasion of the first layer of the skin, similar to a light skin scrub to remove the top layer of skin. Unfortunately, dermabrasion does not provide lasting collagen remodelling and therefore does not provide significant improvement to the look of wrinkles or fine lines over long periods of time. Microneedling reaches to the deeper layers of skin and therefore provides a smooth skin appearance that tends to last, based upon significant collagen remodelling triggered by the depth of the microneedle extension.
